Ben and Petra enjoyed a 6 day cycle touring trip in Holland: testing our new tent, singing a lot if children’s songs, getting lost, wild camping, head wind, some rain, a lot of sun, enjoying life
Ben is talking continuously while sitting in the front. Imagine hours of cycling and listening to this baby language all the time. Horrible! Poor Peter, he has got two people in his family who talk all the time.
A big achievement in the past few weeks is that Ben is nappy free during the day. We are very happy and a little bit proud too because he is only 1 year and 10 months old. On this trip he peed in his pants only once (!!!) Great for us because then we don’t have to worry about nappies.
In about two months we will hit the road again. We found a place for our dear dogs Ouiza and Coco with some nice people in Friesland therefore we will travel only with the three of us. We will cycle through Asia but don’t know how long it will take us. Probably two years. We are busy with selling and buying stuff, vaccinations, repairing the bikes and similar things. In the following weeks Petra will finish this website. We will add a map of our earlier trips, a map of our planned route and share our experiences of cycle touring during pregnancy and with a baby. For now you can enjoy the slideshows of Peter’s travels in the past few years and of our trips together (see ‘recent posts’). If you want to follow us on this trip just enter your email address on the right side.
This is a slideshow of the first three long trips we did together. In 2010 Peter and Petra cycled for 7 months in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Great Britain and Ireland. In 2011 we cycled for 5 months in Morocco and Spain during the pregnancy. In 2012 Ben joined us in his little trailer en we cycled for 5 months from Granada (ESP) till Karlsruhe (D). We started this trip when Ben was 6 months old.
